During the Corona Virus Outbreak The Core is only operating 2 core functions to help our community:

1) DAILY JUICE DELIVERY TO KEY WORKERS

We are delivering batches of juices into the team at Great Western Hospital, surgeries, pharmacies, ambulance crews etc to provide them with a daily boost of health and nutrients. We started this scheme off and it is now continuing due to the kind support of business and individuals. The number of juices we can make is directly proportion to the cost of production (produce + staff time to make them + bottling). We are then using volunteer drivers to get them to the front line workers.

We are currently making 30-40 juices per day. We are aiming (due to demand) to ramp this up to 100-150 per day.

Some of the amazing Urgent care team at GWH that got free juices today! We've gone from 150 free juices last week to 270 this week! This is the lovely @sophiebeale . The team she's part of, based at the Orbital, are the community team, so they are visiting patients within their homes. They are incredibly busy normally, so now with even more demand on them it's pretty tough going. They expect to be extremely busy in the coming weeks when patients who have had Covid-19 are then back home and recovering out of the acute hospital setting. We thought they needed some free juices so sent 30 up there. 2) FRUIT AND VEG BOX DELIVERY

We are also providing a box delivery service to Swindon residents who really need fruit and vegetables and are self-isolating.

We currently have capacity for 30 boxes a day (and we are full) but with extra resource (vans, volunteers etc) we are hoping to increase that to 100 a day.

"Hearing their stories made me shed a tear" said Jenny, one of our volunteer drivers today (pictured). First up today was 92 year old 'Meme' or Grandma to nominee @georgielouca - she said "My grandma looks after my uncle who is epileptic, diabetic and has mild learning difficulties. She refuses to moan or make a fuss and has cared for my uncle all his life. I just want to say thank you again for the free box of fruit and veg, it will really help her". This is the reason why we continue, to help people and through your donations we make that possible. You may know we are already giving free juices to key workers and we are now using a portion of the that money to fund these free boxes too. Core regular @ash_zuberi sporting some power socks as he got his Core veg box delivered today. He said "Sure you can take a picture @ktalikowski what's not to love about these toasty toe warmers? This is my new workwear man! My problem is I need to stop eating so much chocolate, or I'm going to turn into a Malteser!" 🤣

This is the incredibly lovely Mark Conway who is sadly self isolating due to terminal cancer. Mark has battled oesophageal cancer since December 2018 and it has now spread to the liver. Despite this incredible challenge, Mark remains happy, positive and smiling. He and his equally lovely wife Carol love to cook healthily and juice and so after a request, we immediately gifted them a weekly fruit box and veg box to help. After a chat with Carol who would usually make green juices for Mark, we thought we'd take over, and so today we also delivered a batch of super high veg green juices to boost his immunity. We are so humbled to be able to do anything we can to help Mark and we will continue to obviously supply more boxes and juices for them. Please send them your love with a comment below as I'm sure they'd be thrilled for some positive messages to read.
